Giving Back to Occupational Therapists
Occupational therapists (OTs) are integral members of the allied health community. With compassion and dedication, OTs empower individuals to live successfully by taking a holistic approach to the interaction between health and occupations.
OTs support us during the most vulnerable periods in our lives – as we age, as we experience disability, and as we live with chronic conditions.
And yet, despite the positive impacts OTs effect in the Australian community, both the profession and its practitioners go largely unrecognised.
As a manufacturer and supplier of therapeutic sleep products, we work closely with occupational therapists across a range of sectors. We were inspired by the tenacity, compassion and professionalism we encounter every day, so we decided to create the Occupational Therapist Appreciation Program (OTAP), an organisation that gives back to Australia’s OTs.
OTAP: The Community for OTs
Founded in 2020, OTAP exists to acknowledge the ongoing contributions made by occupational therapists to Australia.
We partnered with Occupational Therapy Australia to create an occupational therapy community that includes rewards programs, networking services, and industry awards.
By becoming OTAP members, OTs can:
- Earn and redeem points with OTAP Rewards
- Connect with colleagues across Australia by sharing off-work interests
- Become eligible for quarterly OT achievement awards
- Access the OTAP library of industry resources
Membership is free, and only registered OTs can join.
